Michelle Rodriguez, born on July 12, 1978, is an American actress, screenwriter, and DJ. She gained recognition for her breakout role as a troubled boxer in the critically acclaimed independent film "Girlfight" (2000), which earned her awards such as the Independent Spirit Award and Gotham Award for Best Debut Performance. Rodriguez then portrayed Letty Ortiz in the blockbuster film "The Fast and the Furious" (2001) and reprised the role in subsequent sequels.
Throughout her career, Rodriguez has played tough and independent women in successful action films like "Blue Crush," "S.W.A.T.," "Battle: Los Angeles," and "Avatar." Renowned as one of the highest-paid actresses worldwide, she has received numerous accolades, including an Academy Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, and a Golden Globe Award. Time magazine recognized her as one of the 100 most influential people in 2016.
Theron gained prominence in the 1990s with leading roles in films like "The Devil's Advocate" (1997), "Mighty Joe Young" (1998), and "The Cider House Rules" (1999). She earned critical acclaim and an Oscar for Best Actress for her portrayal of serial killer Aileen Wuornos in "Monster" (2003), becoming the first South African to win an acting Academy Award.
